My attempt to track the ongoing debate...contributions, rants, and insight warmly welcomed.

@cheeky_geeky @Publicyte Spin much? @GovTech article has 0 reference to what@Microsoft buying Yammer means for #opengov; title is just #gov

@digiphile You don’t think that a more agile, collaborative social enterprise falls under the category of “open government”? I do. #opengov

Alex Howard (@digiphile)

@cheeky_geeky As for what I think? Easy. Your tweets suggest @Microsoft would like to position its products under the category of #opengov.

@digiphile @cheeky_geeky @Microsoft bit.ly/MWVbx0 agreed, I read the article because of its references to #opengov and there was none

Alex Howard (@digiphile)

27/06/12 2:03 AM

@AndreaDiMaio Yup. And it’s not at all unfair to point that out, despite the spin that followed.#opengov

Intra-governmental collaboration is #gov20#opengov is a different Gov20 project.@cheeky_geeky @digiphile @AndreaDiMaio @D_Chehab

@gbyehuda @cheeky_geeky @digiphile @D_Chehab Not according to the Open Government Directive

Alex Howard (@digiphile)

27/06/12 2:31 AM

@AndreaDiMaio Yup. Although perhaps we could agree that there’s more to #opengov than@OpenGov?

Andrea DiMaio (@AndreaDiMaio)

27/06/12 2:33 AM

@digiphile Absolutely. I’ve always said that #opengov is a powerful internal tool, so maybe I’m in sync with @cheeky_geeky

Alex Howard (@digiphile)

27/06/12 2:38 AM

@AndreaDiMaio Do your clients in govt report that Sharepoint helps them be more agile or collaborative? Or makes data searchable? #opengov

Andrea DiMaio (@AndreaDiMaio)

27/06/12 2:47 AM

@digiphile Internal use of #opengov goes far beyond collab platforms. Sharepoint, Connections, Jive etc are not the crux of the matter here

Alex Howard (@digiphile)

27/06/12 2:49 AM

@AndreaDiMaio No doubt. But my question stands.

Andrea DiMaio (@AndreaDiMaio)

27/06/12 2:50 AM

@digiphile Er, which one - I have three in the last three tweets :)

Kevin Curry (@kmcurry)

27/06/12 3:04 AM

@AndreaDiMaio The one where @digiphile asked if your gov clients report improvements in the areas he cited due their choice of a collab CMS.

Alex Howard (@digiphile)

27/06/12 3:06 AM

@kmcurry that’s kind of a key question, for sure. hope @AndreaDiMaio circles back & blogs about that results of collab CMS choices.

Kevin Curry (@kmcurry)

27/06/12 3:09 AM

@digiphile @AndreaDiMaio can we link to published results of gov customer surveys about their use of collaborative CMS, i.e., know of any?

Andrea DiMaio (@AndreaDiMaio)

@kmcurry @digiphile We have data in our Magic Quadrants about which tools are best. But the main challenge for #opengov is not technical

Kevin Curry (@kmcurry)

27/06/12 6:42 AM

@AndreaDiMaio @digiphile Good reason to understand which tech makes cultural change EZ, which are painful. Can U help me nav 2 magic quads?
